Winnie immigrated to the United States in 2003. At Archbishop Ryan High School, she served as president of the Community Service Corps and the National Social Studies Honor Society. In addition to playing the cello and piano, she is a member of her school’s swim team. She has volunteered at the Chinatown Medical Services where she interpreted for Chinese speaking patients. Winnie will be attending New York University in the hope of becoming a pediatric neurologist. |
Xuemi moved from the rural parts of Fuzhou, China to America when she was seven years old. She attended the Academy at Palumbo High School, and had been active in her school’s Rock Band, Robotics Club, and Choir. Xuemi works at a part-time job, and also volunteers at the South Philadelphia Library. She aspires to major in Business at the Community College of Philadelphia, and then finishing her degree at Temple University. |
Yang was a young child when she immigrated to the United States. At the Bodine High School for International Affairs, Yang served as president of the Asian Student Association, was a member of the National Honor Society and World Affairs Council, as well as participated in her school’s Robotics Club and the ACCESS Engineering Program of the University of Pennsylvania. Yang will be attending Drexel University, and hopes to major in engineering. |
