- Kick off the new year with the "Speak Up" Seminar at the AAWC Annual Meeting, featuring some of the most prominent Asian American women in leadership. 100 participants attended this event sponsored by Women's Bureau
- AAWC Advisory Board continued to provide AAWC Board their expertise and vision
- Continue to build organizational capacity with the Finance Committee exploring investment with The Philadelphia Foundation for future scholarships
- Publication of quarterly E-Newsletter to improve public relations and communication with members
- Established a Public Relation Committee
- Held social networking event at Cuba Libre Restaurant
- Scholarship Development Committee hosted AAWC scholars gatherings
- Celebrated AAWC 21th Annual Banquet at Joy Tsin Lau Restaurant
- Presented the first East West Music Scholarship in partnership with AAWC member Dr. Yukiko Ishida
- Cecilia Moy Yep Scholarship and AAWC Scholarships supported over thirty five students with four-year scholarship and many book scholarships for students
- Cecilia Moy Yep received the Civic Responsibility Award from Community College of Philadelphia for improving the lives and experiences of the members of the community
- Carol Wong was awarded the 2008 Girl Scouts' "Take the Lead: Honoring Women of Courage, Confidence and Character"
- Hosted the second seminar of the year Survival Guide to College Life for "SMARTIES" sponsored by Powell Family Foundation. It was well attended with 100 high school seniors and juniors
- Participated in various cultural activities in the Greater Philadelphia area

- Completion of membership survey resulted in creation of the Vision Committee to hold focus groups discussions to strive to meet the needs of our members and develop AAWC's future strategic plans
- Hired a consultant through a special endownment fund to bring AAWC to the next level of organizational capacity
- Establishment of the first Advisory Board to provide the current AAWC board with their expertise and vision
- Publication of the first quarterly E-Newsletter to improve public relations and communications with members
- Launched 2 networking events called the "Let's Mingle Reception" for past, current, and prospective AAWC members
AAWC 2005
- Presented the Smithsonian Institute Traveling Exhibition Service program entitled "Through My Father's Eyes" at the Philadelphia Free Library, Independence Branch from April to June 2005. These black and white photographs from Ricardo Ocreto Alvarado depicted the lives of Filipino families living in California during 1940 - 1950. Along with this, we held a special grand opening in April in conjunction with the Filipino Executive Council of Greater Philadelphia that featured live entertainment, music, and food from the Filipino culture.
- Presented 5 financial planning seminars for Asian women living in the greater Philadelphia area as part of the grant received from the Women's Bureau, Division of the Department of Labor. The first was a one-day financial planning seminar held in March for professional Asian women. Four separate programs were held for women immigrants from China, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Korea during June and July. Over 300 women and guests attended the 5 programs for improving their financial security by better management of their dollars.
- Celebrated our 11th Anniversary of the Scholarship Banquet in which the program focused on the past and current scholarship recipients of the Cecilia Moy Yep Scholarship and other scholarship recipients awarded over the past 11 years to exemplary female high school students. Since 1997, AAWC has provided 4-year financial assistance to 28 young female Asian scholars in the pursuit of their educational goals. AAWC has also provided book scholarships to other well deserving Asian students in the greater Delaware Valley area.
- Held our sixth annual "Getting to Know You Reception" at the Independence Branch Library for local high school juniors and seniors to enable them to learn more about their college choices, majors, and professional aspirations.
- Entertained and provided gifts to about 50 children at our Holiday Party. This was co-sponsored by the generosity of Methodist Hospital.
- AAWC Scholarship Outreach Program has expanded the number of outings that are held each year with past and current scholarship recipients to maintain a close working relationship between AAWC professional members and the scholars. The goal of the program is to form long lasting bonds and provide mentoring for these scholars.
AAWC 2004
- Celebrated our 10th Anniversary of the Scholarship Banquet in which the program focused on the past and current scholarship recipients of the Cecilia Moy Yep Scholarship and other scholarship recipients awarded over the past 10 years to exemplary female high school students
- Received the Monte Jade Liberty Award from the Monte Jade Science and Technology Association of Mid-Atlantic for our continuing contributions and work for the betterment of the different Asian communities in the Greater Philadelphia area
- Submitted and was approved for a $10,000 grant from the Women's Bureau, an agency under the Department of Labor, for producing a three-part program addressing financial security of Asian women in the Greater Philadelphia area
- Demonstrated our continuing support and unity during challenging times for fellow AAWC members and the Asian community in their times of need. Assisted in the efforts in communicating the establishment of a special college fund for a school age child
- Launched an in-house pledge campaign for AAWC members to commit to a specified amount over the next ten years as a sign of their commitment and loyalty to the mission and goals of AAWC
- Launched "Connecting with Our Elders" program by visiting the Oh-Lok House (senior citizens center) in Chinatown in April. Program involved members from the Youth Development Committee in which the volunteers brought sunshine, flowers, candy, and music to the residents of the center.
- Continued to work with the Smithsonian Institute in bringing the program entitled "Through My Father's Eyes" to the Philadelphia area in 2005 with an opening reception by AAWC and co-sponsors. Program depicts the lives of Filipino families in the 1940's and 1950's in California
- Continued our partnering relationship with both Methodist Hospital and Jefferson University Hospital in awarding nursing scholarships to local Asian high school students who will later service the needs of the community
- Entertained and provided gifts to about 50 children at our Holiday Party that was co-sponsored by Methodist Hospital
- Held our fifth annual "Getting to Know You Reception" at the Independence Branch Library for local high school juniors and seniors for learning about their proposed college choices, majors, and professional aspirations
