Amy Tan will be speaking at the Free Library of Philadelphia (Central Library) on November 8, 2013 at 7:30 pm about her new novel, The Valley of Amazement.
With a “wonderful eye for what is telling, a fine ear for dialogue, a deep empathy for her subject matter and a guilelessly straightforward way of writing” (New York Times), Amy Tan is the author of the beloved novels The Joy Luck Club, a finalist for the National Book Award and the National Book Critics Circle Award; The Kitchen God's Wife; and The Hundred Secret Senses. She also co-wrote the screenplay for the film adaptation of The Joy Luck Club.
