Hello.
My name is Tammy Forstater and I am the Outreach Coordinator for HOSTS for HOSPITALS (HfH), a non-profit agency providing free lodging in private homes for patients and their families coming to Greater Philadelphia for specialized medical care. (www.hostsforhospitals.org). For the next 3-4 months we will be receiving lodging requests for patient-families coming from China for children to receive treatment at the Wills Eye Intitute in Center City. We are lodging one such family now. We have a second family from the Hulyun Way Tiehe District that will be arriving on May 27. We expect to receive a half-dozen more such requests. As we may not be able to arrange lodging for all of these families from our existing host-network, we would like to work with you to make members of the Philadelphia Asian community aware of this need. In particular, the family to be arriving May 27 second consists of a 3 1/2 year old girl and her 40 year old father. They do not speak English and will not have a car. We were hoping you might be able to help us find free lodging for this family. The way our program works is that the hosts provide all of the sheets, towels, blankets, etc. The guest-families are responsible for their own food, personal toiletries and transportation. The guests will have funds for their own food and transportation. Please therefore call or email me back at your earliest convenience. I in turn will call youTuesday if we have not heard back from you before then. In the meantime, thank you so much for your time in considering this matter.
